Søren Harnow Klausen is professor of philosophy at the University of Southern Denmark. With a background in both continental and analytical philosophy, he has more recently concentrated on applying philosophy to a variety of topics of societal concern, like aging, public health, new digital technology, green transition, societal transformations, policy feasibility and implementation, and cross-curricular education. His recent publications include "The Phenomenology of Aging" (Phenomenology and the Cognitive Sciences), Gratifying Transitions: Maintaining Wellbeing in the Face of Climate Change (Rowman & Littlefield, forthcoming), “Transformative Experience, Self-Cultivation and the Chinese Path to Modernization” (Journal of Social and Political Philosophy, forthcoming). Søren Harnow Klausen was visiting scholar at Peking University 2023-2024 and has been guest professor at Aabo Akademi University (Finland) since 2022. He is currently head of the projects “Wellbeing and Virtual Worlds” (funded by Independent Research Fund Denmark) and “The Future of Mobile Hospital Robots” (funded by Danish Translational Hub).
