Introduction of Fudan-LAS Excellence Internship Program
Fudan-LAS Excellence Internship Program was jointly established by Fudan University and the Secretariat of the League of Arab States (LAS). It is co-hosted by the Institute for Global Public Policy (IGPP) at Fudan University and the LAS Training Department, with support from the Fudan-Arab Research Centre for Global Development and Governance and the China-Arab Network for Schools of Public Policy and Administration (CANSPPA).
The program provides students from Chinese universities with short-term internship opportunities in various departments at the LAS headquarters, allowing them to gain in-depth insights into LAS's role in regional affairs coordination, international organization management, and the protection and advancement of common interests among its member states. The initiative aims to strengthen China–Arab youth exchanges and cultivate global leadership, contributing to the “Cooperation Initiative on Youth Development” under the eight major initiatives for China–Arab practical cooperation.
The inaugural program was held in Cairo, Egypt, from January 12 to 23, 2025, bringing together 12 Chinese students from Fudan University, Beijing Normal University, Nankai University, Dalian University of Technology, City University of Hong Kong, and the University of Macau. As a key initiative in IGPP’s engagement with Arab countries, the program is integrated with the annual China–Arab Forum on Global Development and Governance and the International Master of Public Administration (IMPA) program, establishing an integrated mechanism that provides a significant platform for China–Arab youth to engage in international affairs practice and global governance research.
