On the afternoon of March 6, the inaugural “Fudan-Arab League Excellence Internship Program” Certificate Awarding Ceremony and Summary Meeting was held at the Fudan Institute for Global Public Policy (IGPP). The event was hosted by Dean Yijia Jing of IGPP. Participants included Shulin Liu and Chongchong Guo from IGPP; Botao Lin and Xinyan Zhang from the School of International Relations and Public Affairs; Baipu Chen from the School of Data Science; Yitian Tang from the School of Law; Yuxiu Guo from the School of Physics and Astronomy, Beijing Normal University; Jiahui Ou from the School of Foreign Studies, Nankai University; Jie Xu from the School of Public Administration and Policy, Dalian University of Technology; and Qianyi Hu from the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Macau.

The summary meeting started with both online and in-person interns sharing their experiences and insights from the program. The students reflected on their firsthand experiences during the internship, discussing their responsibilities across departments and their interactions with Arab League mentors. They particularly appreciated the meticulous care and generous guidance provided by the Arab League staff and expressed their hope to foster lasting friendship while contributing to deeper exchanges between Chinese and Arab civilizations. The interns also conveyed their sincere gratitude to IGPP for its thoughtful planning, organization, and execution of the program, recognizing it as a highly valuable opportunity.

Professor Jing thanked the students for their participation in this pioneering internship and congratulated them on their achievements. He highlighted that the program successfully accomplished two key objectives. First, the interns gained valuable insights, deepening their understanding of the role of Arab League in global public policy and China-Arab relations. Second, as representatives of Chinese university students, the interns projected a positive, confident, and ambitious image of Chinese youth, earning high praise from the Arab League Secretariat and establishing a strong foundation for future collaboration between Fudan and the Arab League. Professor Jing encouraged the interns to remain engaged in China-Arab cooperation initiatives and to take on leadership roles in fostering deeper collaboration between the two regions.

After the meeting, Professor Jing presented the interns with certificates jointly issued by the Arab League headquarters and Fudan University. The ceremony ended successfully with a group photo.
