IGPP Hosted the conference on Global Governance Discipline

On March 30, 2024, the Conference on the Construction of Global Governance Discipline from the Perspective of Public Management and the Inauguration Ceremony of the Global Governance Discipline Working Group was held at Fudan University. This conference marked an important milestone in the advancement of the construction of the global governance sub-discipline, following the completion of the guiding catalog for sub-disciplines under the field of public management by the Public Management Discipline Evaluation Group in 2023. The conference was attended by the co-conveners and members of the Public Management Discipline Evaluation Group, leaders from Fudan University, as well as experts and scholars from Fudan University and other institutions.

At the opening ceremony of the seminar, Haihong Qian, Vice Chancellor of Fudan University, Professor Lan Xue, professor of Tsinghua University and a co-convener of the Group, and Professor Yan Chen, Executive Vice Dean of the Graduate School of Fudan University, delivered speeches. They emphasized that the establishment of the global governance sub-discipline is an inevitable requirement for exploring the development of public management in the era of globalization and a necessary step towards advancing the modernization of national governance.

In the thematic discussion session, the members of the Global Governance Sub-discipline Working Group conducted discussions on the construction of the global governance sub-discipline from four aspects: overall development strategy, talent cultivation, research and academia, and international exchange and cooperation.

Before the official start of the seminar on the construction of the global governance discipline, a theoretical discussion meeting on the Construction of the Global Governance Sub-discipline in Public Administration was held on the afternoon of March 29th. The meeting was chaired by Professor Lan Xue and Professor Jianxing Yu, co-chairs of the Global Governance Sub-discipline Working Group. Participants from institutions such as Fudan University, Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, and China Agricultural University delivered presentations at the meeting.
