THE SPEAKER
Dr. Berman is an award-winning Professor of Public Management at Victoria University of Wellington. He has extensively researched Asian public management in the last 15 years, including in China. His recent books include Leadership and Public Sector Reform in Asia (2018). He is recipient of the Fred Riggs Award for Lifetime Achievement in International and Comparative Public Administration. He frequently visits and co-teaches with Fudan
ABSTRACT
This lecture discusses trends in global public administration and how these shape the goals and tasks of public administrators in coming years. Public managers face many challenges in a more complex world and need a clear focus on performance. This lecture discusses three leading, practices from Asia-Pacific for the modern era and draws implications for competencies and education.
