Abstrat

Social health insurance is generally considered an important means of achieving universal health coverage, especially for low-income and middle-income countries. China’s urban-rural health insurance integration is a very important institutional reform to address inefficiency of the health insurance system and related health inequalities. However, its associations with a broad range of health outcomes have not been explored yet. This cohort study aims to examine the associations of the integration with health outcomes among middle-aged and older rural adults and possible mechanisms behind those associations.
