In June 2026, Global Public Policy and Governance (GPPG), the international journal published by the Institute for Global Public Policy (IGPP) at Fudan University, further strengthened its academic standing in major international journal rankings. According to Elsevier’s 2026 CiteScore metrics, GPPG achieved a CiteScore of 4.3, placing it in the top 17% of 745 journals in the “Political Science and International Relations” category and maintaining its Q1 status. The journal also ranked in the top 29% of 314 journals in the “Development” category, placing it at the upper end of Q2. In the SCImago Journal Rank (SJR), which takes into account both the quantity and quality of citations, GPPG likewise remained in Q1 for “Political Science and International Relations” and in Q2 for both “Public Administration” and “Development.”

Clarivate also recently released its latest Journal Citation Reports (JCR), showing that GPPG’s Journal Impact Factor increased to 2.3, while its five-year Impact Factor reached 3.0. Based on these metrics, the journal ranked in the upper tier of Q2 among 332 journals in Political Science and remained firmly in Q2 among 97 journals in Public Administration. These achievements reflect the growing recognition of GPPG’s publishing quality and academic influence within the international scholarly community and provide further impetus for the journal to advance knowledge creation and dissemination in the field of global governance.

Launched in Spring 2021 and published by Springer Nature, GPPG serves as the flagship journal of the China–Arab Network of Schools of Public Policy and Administration (CANSPPA). Over the past year, the journal has closely followed emerging developments in global governance and organized special issues on topics including Trumpism. These special issues have brought together and rapidly disseminated a substantial body of high-quality research, further enhancing the journal’s visibility and influence within the global governance research community. Since its launch, GPPG has continued to expand its international profile and academic reach. The journal was indexed in Scopus in 2022, selected for inclusion in the China AMI Journal Evaluation Database in the same year, and added to the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) of the Web of Science Core Collection in 2024. In 2025, GPPG received Springer Nature’s International Impact Award. Earlier, in 2022, Professor Yijia Jing, the journal’s Editor-in-Chief, was recognized as a Springer Nature Outstanding Editor. These milestones underscore GPPG’s steady growth as an international platform for scholarship on global public policy and governance.
