IGPP and the LSE co-organized Shanghai Forum roundtable on 'Inclusive Development'

On October 29, 2023, the Shanghai Forum roundtable on 'Inclusive Development: Chinese Practices and Global Frontiers' was successfully held. The roundtable was jointly organized by the Institute for Global Public Policy and the Department of International Development at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Professor Yijia Jing, Professor Yu Zheng , and Professor Kathryn Hochstetler served as co-conveners of the roundtable. This roundtable was also the second annual workshop of the 'China and South-South Cooperation workshop' jointly organized by the Institute for Global Public Policy and the Department of International Development of LSE.

The first part of the roundtable was hosted by Professor Kathryn Hochstetler. Professor Guanghua Wan from the School of Economics at Fudan University, Associate Professor Elias Jabbour from the School of Economics at the Rio de Janeiro State University in Brazil, Professor Xiuli Xu, Dean of the College of International Development and Global Agriculture at China Agricultural University, Austin Strange from the Department of Politics and Public Administration at the University of Hong Kong, and Professor Yingyao Chen, Deputy Dean of the School of Public Health at Fudan University, delivered speeches.

The second part of the roundtable was hosted by Professor Yu Zheng. Professor Maria Francesca Staiano, Director of the China Studies Center at the School of International Relations, La Plata University in Argentina, Professor Jiejin Zhu from the School of International Relations and Public Affairs at Fudan University, Associate Professor Gregory T. Chin from the Department of Political Science at York University in Canada, Researcher Le Wang from the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation, and Professor Alvaro Mendez from LSE participated in the discussion.
