On October 28, 2023, the Fudan-Arab Research Centre for Global Development and Governance was launched during the inaugural China-Arab Forum on Global Development and Governance. The ceremony was witnessed by President Li Jin of Fudan University, Secretary-General Salama of the Association of Arab Universities, President Yubo Du of the China Association of Higher Education, and Director Farraj Alajmi of the Education and Scientific Research Department of the League of Arab States. Arab and Chinese members of the Centre participated in taking the group photo.

The Fudan-Arab Research Centre for Global Development and Governance is an international research center jointly established by Fudan University and the Association of Arab Universities. It is a cooperative project supported by the Secretariat of the League of Arab States. The center aims to promote academic exchanges between scholars from both sides, organize academic, cultural, and social activities, facilitate joint research, publications, and public services, and promote degree and non-degree student exchanges and cooperation between China and Arab countries. It will also provide professional training. The center will be affiliated to the Fudan Institute for Global Public Policy.
