On October 28, 2023, the certificate awarding ceremony for the appointment of professor Amr Salama, Secretary-General of the Arab University Association, as Honorary Professor of Fudan University took place during the China-Arab Forum on Global Development and Governance.

In recognition of Professor Amr Salama's outstanding academic achievements, educational administrative experience, and significant contributions to promoting China-Arab higher education cooperation, Fudan University, upon the recommendation of Fudan Institute for Global Public Policy, appointed him as Fudan University Honorary Professor. Fudan University President Li Jin presented the certificate of Honorary Professorship to Amr Salama on behalf of Fudan University.

Amr Salama has served as the Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities (AARU) and was a former Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Egypt, as well as a Professor of Structural Engineering at Cairo University.
