Conference on Theory and Innovation of China's Public Management and Policy Held Successfully

The “Conference on Theory and Innovation of China's Public Management and Policy” was held at the Institute for Global Public Policy (IGPP), Fudan University, on December 4-5, 2020. The conference was co-organized by the IGPP, the LSE-Fudan Research Centre for Global Public Policy and the School of International Relations and Public Affairs (SIRPA). More than 30 scholars and researchers from Fudan University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, Tianjin University, Tongji University, Jilin University, Shandong University, East China Normal University, Cambridge University and other universities attended the conference.

The opening ceremony of the conference was hosted by Associate Professor Ping Zhang, Assistant Dean of the IGPP. Professor Yijia Jing, Dean of the IGPP, delivered a welcome speech at the opening ceremony, expressing his hope that, through sharing ideas and research findings, the conference would facilitate the exchange of research experience and promote the effort of theorizing China’s governance practices.

The conference was divided into 8 panels, including: E-Governance and Innovation, State Governance and Government Regulation, Policy Implementation and Compliance, Collaborative Governance and Spatial Governance, Emergency Management and Crisis Governance, Public Policy and Governance Innovation, Governance and Innovation, and Public Policy and Governance Performance. The penal presentations aroused strong resonance among the participants and led to heated discussions.

At the end of the conference, Professor Jing gave closing remarks. He expressed his appreciation of the high-quality presentation of the conference participants. He also hoped that the IGPP would become a platform for scholars and researchers to communicate and learn from each other. The conference ended in warm applause.
