Jie SHEN, Associate professor at School of Social Development and Public Policy, Fudan University. She received her PhD in city and regional planning at Cardiff University, UK. She was also a visiting scholar at the University College London, UK. She currently serves as a Corresponding Editor of International Journal of Urban and Regional Research. Her research focuses on urban and regional development in China, including suburbanization and suburban development, socio-spatial differentiation and urban governance. She has published papers in Antipode, Regional Studies, Urban Studies, Environment and Planning A, Urban Geography, Land Use Policy, Cities and Journal of Urban Affairs. She is the author of Suburban Growth in China (The Commercial Press, 2016) and co-author of Urbanization and Urban-Rural Development (China Architecture and Building Press, 2015). She is Principle Investigator of two national-level grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
