Jie SHEN, Professor, at School of Social Development and Public Policy, Fudan University. She received her PhD in city and regional planning at Cardiff University, UK. She was also a visiting scholar at the University College London, UK. She has been selected as Elsevier's Highly Cited Chinese Researchers for 2021 and 2022. Her research focuses on urban and regional development in China, including suburbanization and suburban development, socio-spatial differentiation, urban governance, and rural-urban migration. She has published papers in leading international journals such as Antipode, Regional Studies, Environment and Planning A, Urban Studies, Urban Geography, Progress in Planning, Goodrum, Journal of Urban Affairs, etc. She is the author of Suburban Growth in China (The Commercial Press, 2016) and Differentiation and Integration: Social Space in Transitional Urban China (Fudan University Press, 2021). She is Principle Investigator of three national-level grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Jie serves as an editor for Regional Studies and a Corresponding Editor of International Journal of Urban and Regional Research. She is also on the board of the journal Transactions in Planning and Urban Research.
