In December 2022, Springer Nature gave the award of Outstanding Editor to ten editors-in-chief to honor their special accomplishments in developing their journals. These ten journals were selected from thousands of academic journals that Spring Nature publishes.

Professor Yijia Jing, the founding editor-in-chief of Global Public Policy and Governance (GPPG), received this award. He is the only Asia-based editor, and the journal GPPG is the only newly founded journal among these selected ten.

At the Spotlight On Event organized by Springer Nature on 13 December 2022, the award-winning editors-in-chief presented their special achievements in developing and promoting the journals. Professor Jing shared his experiences in the use of special issues to overcame the difficulties in the starting stage of GPPG, and answered questions from the audience.
