【Call for Applications】 2023 LSE-Fudan Research Centre for Global Public Policy Seed Funds

The LSE-Fudan Research Centre for Global Public Policy seed funds accept applications involving academics from Fudan and the LSE to support academic research collaborations between the two universities.


Eligibility

All full-time teaching and research faculty of Fudan University and/or LSE.


Description

Successful applications are excepted to carry out joint academic research or teaching exchanges between the two universities, with clear collaboration plans and output goals. The forms of collaboration include public lectures, internal seminars, live online dialogues, academic conferences, international conference sub-forums, joint research, co-authored papers and books, academic visits, teaching collaboration, etc.


Funding

Support is limited to projects that are unfunded and/or underfunded. Maximum funding request: 50,000 RMB.


The uses of funds include international and domestic travel, conference registration, access to data, field trip, local transportation and communication, honorarium, etc.


*The Centre can also provide support such as conference venue, office for visiting scholars, communication assistance, and information dissemination for related activities.


Half of the funds are allocated usually upon approval of the application. The remaining funds are allocated at the end of the year based on the progress of project.、


Duration of support

Projects should be completed within the year. Those with excellent implementation will be given priority if they apply for new projects in the following year.


Commitment

Receipt of the funds will require a commitment to:

a. Acknowledge the Centre's support in a reasonable manner, including a description of the Centre's support in the event campaign and agenda, acknowledgement in research outputs, etc.

b. Submit a brief project report that will be posted on the Centre's webpage.


Application

Applications are open all year round. Applicants should complete and sign the application form and submit it to fudan_lse@fudan.edu.cn with “Seed Funds Applications” in the subject line of the email. * The application form should be filled out and submitted by Fudan members of the project.

Selection

Applications will be evaluated by the Centre's Council. Creative collaborative projects are encouraged; projects that are interdisciplinary, international and oriented to global policy issues are encouraged. Priority is given to those with existing collaboration base. Decision will be notified to both Fudan and LSE members of the project via email.
