On March 29, 2024, the inaugural workshop on the construction of Chinese international journals on public adminsitration was held at Fudan University. The workshop was organized by the Fudan Institute for Global Public Policy (IGPP) and Springer Nature Group. Representatives of Chinese institutions that host international public administration journals participated in the workshop, including Chinese Public Administration Review, Global Public Policy and Governance, Journal of Chinese Governance, Journal of Comparative Policy Analysis, and Urban Governance. The editor of international journal Asian Review of Political Economy also participated in the workshop. Guests from Springer Nature Group, Fudan University, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Sun Yat-sen University, Zhejiang University, East China Normal University, China Agricultural University, and other institutions attended the meeting.
Professor Yijia Jing, the Dean of the IGPP, and Ms.Jia Han, a senior publisher from Springer Nature, delivered opening remarks on behalf of the organizers. Professor Jing stated that the establishment of new international journals by Chinese institutions of public administration signifies the enhanced capacity for knowledge creation and dissemination in the field of Chinese public administration.
During the thematic discussion session, scholars engaged in lively discussions on various topics, including strategies to attract high-quality submissions, building a team of efficient and high-quality reviewers, enhancing the citation frequency of journal articles, balancing the communication and cooperation between Chinese and international issues and journals, and more.
