On May 24, 2024, Ian Phillips, the Director of the News and Media Division at the United Nations, along with Peter Dawkins, the Head of the United Nations Website, and James Zheng, the Head of the United Nations Chinese Website, visited the Fudan Institute for Global Public Policy (IGPP). They were warmly received by Professor Yijia Jing, the Dean of the IGPP. Assistant Professor Jingyuan Xu and Xin Ye, as well as the office director Rong Zhang of the IGPP, also attended the meeting.

During the meeting, both parties engaged in in-depth and constructive discussions on issues of common interest. The topics covered included the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), news editing and reporting, platform development, AI and research, AI and news dissemination, and more. They also exchanged views on future collaborations in research, student cultivation, internships in international organizations, and public initiatives.
