On March 17th, 2023, the Institute for Global Public Policy hosted a welcome ceremony for Fudan Chair Professor, Dr. Mark D. Robbins. Professor and dean Yijia Jing, faculty members and students of IGPP participated in the event.

Professor Yijia Jing first cordially welcomed Professor Robbins and introduced him to the students and faculty members. Professor Robbins is a Professor Emeritus in the School of Public Policy at the University of Connecticut. He specializes in public budgeting and finance, with a particular focus on public preferences for taxing and spending, as well as public debts. He has been a frequent visitor to Fudan University in the past, and was appointed as Fudan Chair Professor in early 2023.

Professor Robbins further introduced his research interests and ongoing work and made discussions with students and professors on specific research issues. During his visit, Professor Robbins will participate in academic lectures, workshops, and other scholarly exchange activities. He looked forward to extensive exchanges and collaboration with IGPP’s faculty members and students.

To conclude the event, Professor Jing presented Professor Robbins with two volumes of the journal Global Public Policy and Governance, which is edited by the IGPP. Students and faculty members took a group photo thereafter.
