At the beginning, Youth Editorial Board members spoke in turn, introducing their research interests and offering their congratulations on the achievements GPPG has made since its launch.

Next, members engaged in an in-depth discussion on the status and future of GPPG. Professor Jing highlighted the journal’s strong momentum since its launch: it was indexed in Scopus in 2022, added to the ESCI database in 2023, and received its first impact factor in 2024. According to Clarivate’s Journal Citation Reports and Elsevier’s CiteScore, GPPG has secured a solid position in the upper tier of Q2 journals in its related fields and has even advanced into the Q1 tier in certain subject areas. Looking ahead, the journal will continue to consolidate and further enhance its reputation within the academic community. The Editorial Office also encouraged Youth Editorial Board members to play a more active role in manuscript review, social media outreach, and special issue development.

To enhance the journal’s impact, members put forward several valuable suggestions. These included launching official social media accounts and encouraging authors to share datasets to strengthen both academic influence and societal relevance. Participants also engaged in a thorough discussion on the feasibility and necessity of establishing an “AI editor.” They examined this issue from multiple perspectives, including ethical standards, and concluded that exploring the auxiliary role of AI in journal management—within appropriate ethical and social boundaries—could be a promising way to improve efficiency and alleviate editorial burdens.

In his concluding remarks, Professor Jing emphasized that the establishment of the Youth Editorial Board has infused new vitality into the journal’s development. He noted that this inaugural meeting carries significant importance for guiding GPPG’s innovative growth. Looking ahead, the Editorial Office will convene regular meetings and warmly welcomes the continued engagement of all Youth Editorial Board members, encouraging them to contribute ideas and collaborate in further enhancing the journal’s international impact.

The meeting concluded with a group photo of all participants.
