On June 20, 2024, Clarivate released the 2023 Journal Citation Reports (JCR). The journal Global Public Policy and Governance (GPPG), hosted by Institute for Global Public Policy, Fudan University, received its first impact factor of 1.6. Among 317 journals in the Political Science category, it ranks in the Q2 quartile, and among 91 journals in the Public Administration category, it ranks in the Q3 quartile.
In this year's JCR, Clarivate for the first time ranked all SSCI and ESCI journals by impact factor within their respective disciplines, providing a more scientific reflection of the trends and influence of journals.
GPPG was officially launched in the spring of 2021 and is published by Springer Nature. To date, it has published 13 issues, with Professor Jing Yijia from Institute for Global Public Policy, Fudan University serving as the editor-in-chief. Previously, in the summer of 2022, GPPG was indexed by the internationally renowned database SCOPUS. In the same year, it was included in the AMI comprehensive evaluation journal database for Chinese humanities and social sciences, and in 2023, it was indexed in the ESCI citation index system under the Web of Science.
In addition to the JCR impact factor, GPPG received a CiteScore of 2.6, ranking in the top 26% of 706 Political Science and International Relations journals, maintaining a Q2 quartile position, and ranking in the top 49% of 232 Public Administration journals, in the Q3 quartile. In the SJR ranking, which considers both citation quantity and quality, GPPG also remains in the Q2 quartile for Political Science and International Relations and the Q3 quartile for Public Administration. These indicators reflect the growing recognition of GPPG's quality by the international academic and publishing community and will encourage the journal to make greater contributions to the creation and dissemination of knowledge in the field of global governance in the future.
