On January 10th, a delegation led by Nora Colton, Dean of the UCL Global Business School for Health, visited the Fudan Institute for Global Public Policy (IGPP). The two sides jointly held an international academic workshop on Global Health and International Cooperation, where they engaged in discussions on key issues in current global health.
Professor Yijia Jing, Dean of the IGPP, and Professor Nora Colton, Dean of the UCL Global Business School for Health briefly introduced the research and teaching practices of their respective institutes in the field of health policy, and expressed the desire to develop further cooperation. The academic discussion session was chaired by Professor Chunrong Liu from Fudan University.
First, Professor Jing discussed the issue of international cooperation in China's going global of health, and Professor Colton discussed the complex landscape of global governance and health. Subsequently, Professor Xu Tang, Executive Director of the Fudan International Centre of Excellence (ICoE), delivered a keynote speech on achieving health-centric climate governance supported by risk interconnectivity, and Professor Xiang Gao, Dean of the Fudan Institute of Nutrition, spoke on the application of data science methods in nutrition policy.
Professor Yingyao Chen, Deputy Dean of the Fudan School of Public Health, introduced the Fudan Global Health Institute to the scholars present. Afterwards, Assistant Professor Yuxi Zhang from the UCL Global Business School for Health illustrated how the use of multi-disciplinary research can promote the formation of global health systems. Assistant Professor Ziteng Fan of the IGPP then gave a presentation on understanding cross-domain policy coordination for mobile populations. Finally, Assistant Professor Xin Ye of the IGPP discussed how to use natural language processing technology to address global natural disasters and human health.
