On October 20, 2025, a delegation from Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH), led by President Andreas Timm-Giel, visited the Institute for Global Public Policy (IGPP) at Fudan University. The delegation was welcomed by Dean Yijia Jing of IGPP. The visit focused on academic collaboration, talent development, and internationalization, with in-depth discussions on potential avenues for future cooperation. Members of the delegation included Professor Qiang Li, Director of the Institute for Integrated Circuits and Systems; Professor Nima Shokri, Director of the Institute of Geographical and Hydrological Information; Professor Nikola Bursac, Director of the Institute of Intelligent Engineering and Mechanical Components; Dr. Yi Wang, Director of International Affairs; Nicole Frei, Director of International Cooperation and Strategy in the International Affairs Department; and Felix Förster, Academic Advisor in the School of Mechanical Engineering. Associate Professor Ping Jiang of IGPP and Rong Zhang, Director of the IGPP Office, also attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Dean Jing welcomed the delegation and introduced IGPP’s institutional development, research achievements, and innovative approaches to student training. He highlighted IGPP’s global partnerships, joint academic programs, and international platforms, emphasizing the importance of international academic collaboration in cultivating public policy professionals with a global perspective amid increasingly complex global governance challenges.

President Timm-Giel expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and introduced TUHH’s strengths in engineering, natural sciences, and interdisciplinary research. He underscored TUHH’s commitment to collaborating with leading institutions worldwide and conveyed strong interest in exploring substantive cooperation with IGPP.

The visit enhanced mutual understanding and laid a solid foundation for future collaboration between Fudan University and Hamburg University of Technology in the areas of public management, public policy, and interdisciplinary research.
