A delegation from Queen's University of Canada visited Fudan IGPP

On October 9, 2024, Professor Sandra den Otter, Vice Provost of Queen's University in Canada, and her delegation visited the Institute of Global Public Policy of Fudan University and the LSE-Fudan Research Center for Global Public Policy. Professor Jing Yijia, Dean of the Institute and Director of the LSE-Fudan Center, led faculty representatives to receive the delegation.

During the meeting, Professor Jing reviewed the history of cooperation between Fudan University and London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), and introduced in detail the progress and achievements made by the LSE-Fudan Center in scientific research, teaching, training and international cooperation. He pointed out that LSE-Fudan Center is committed to promoting the cooperation between teachers and students of the two universities, providing an open platform for research and educational cooperation, and constantly promoting the depth and breadth of cooperation. He said that the Global Institute and LSE Center look forward to exploring cooperation with Queen's University in the fields such as global climate and health in the future.

Professor Sandra den Otter spoke highly of the development of the Global Institute and the LSE Center. She said that Queen's University is making every effort to promote research in fields related to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, and the development paths and cooperation methods of Fudan Global Institute and the LSE Center are highly consistent with Queen's University's global cooperation ideas. She looks forward to in-depth discussions with Fudan University on the potential of innovative cooperation in related fields in the future.

Attendees to the meeting were Professor Bob Lemieux, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Queen's University, Professor Kevin Deluzio, Dean of the Smith School of Engineering, Mr. Zhang Zhiyao, Director of Asian Affairs of Queen’s, as well as IGPP Associate Professor Qian Haoqi, Associate Professor Fan Ziteng, Assistant Professor Ye Xin, and Director of the Administrative Office Ms. Zhang Rong.
