On November 20, 2025, Dean Logan Cochrane of the College of Public Policy at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) in Qatar visited the Institute for Global Public Policy (IGPP) at Fudan University. Dean Yijia Jing of IGPP warmly welcomed Dean Cochrane. Both sides commended the significant role of the China–Arab Network of Schools of Public Policy and Administration (CANSPPA) in fostering collaboration among China–Arab public policy schools and discussed potential partnerships in research, faculty exchanges, and student mobility within this framework.

The College of Public Policy at HBKU is a leading public policy school in the Arab region and was the first in the Gulf to establish a Master of Public Policy (MPP) program. The college has obtained key accreditations, including NASPAA. In mid-2025, HBKU applied to join CANSPPA, and the application was unanimously approved by the CANSPPA Executive Committee. HBKU officially became a CANSPPA member in June 2025.

During the visit, Dean Cochrane participated in the 3rd China–Arab Global Development and Governance Forum and joined the roundtable discussion chaired by Dean Jing. He also attended the ceremony at Fudan University conferring an honorary doctorate on Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit of the League of Arab States, as well as the recent ceremony celebrating the latest expansion of CANSPPA membership.
