On the morning of January 25, 2026, Chinese interns participating in the 2nd Fudan–Arab League Excellence Internship Program visited the Embassy of China in Egypt in Cairo. Through on-site engagement and in-depth discussion, the visit enabled students to gain a deeper understanding of the development of China–Arab relations and practical cooperation in education and interactions. The delegation was warmly received by Minister Counselor Jie Li and Yao Feng from the embassy’s Education and Science Section.

Mr. Feng extended a sincere welcome to the interns and reviewed the progress of China–Arab cooperation in cultural and educational exchange. He emphasized that the longstanding friendship between China and Arab countries is rooted in historical ties and sustained by a shared vision for the future. He encouraged the students to become active promoters of China–Arab friendship and meaningful contributors to global governance in their future academic and professional pursuits.
Yilin Liu, faculty from the Institute for Global Public Policy (IGPP) at Fudan University, expressed appreciation for the embassy’s warm reception and provided a brief overview of the internship program. Drawing on their experiences at the Secretariat of the League of Arab States (LAS), the interns shared reflections on their daily responsibilities, coordination efforts, and professional exchanges. They noted that direct engagement with LAS officials had deepened their understanding of the region’s history, culture, and diplomatic practices, and had inspired more thoughtful reflection on China–Arab and China–Egypt cooperation, as well as broader global governance challenges.
During the discussion session, Minister Counselor Li engaged with students on topics including youth participation in international exchange and diplomatic service. She commended the interns for their dedication and accomplishments throughout the program, encouraging them to continue demonstrating openness, professionalism, and a strong sense of responsibility in cross-cultural dialogue—thereby contributing to stronger emotional bonds and intellectual exchange between Chinese and Arab youth.
This visit marked the 2nd time that the Fudan–Arab League Excellence Internship Program has organized a delegation of Chinese university students to the Embassy of China in Egypt. With the embassy’s strong support, students from universities across China gained first-hand exposure to China’s overseas diplomatic institutions and learned directly from diplomats working on the frontlines—experiencing a vivid and practical lesson in Belt and Road cooperation and global governance.
