On the morning of March 4, 2026, the certificate presentation ceremony and concluding meeting for the 2nd Fudan–Arab League Excellence Internship Program was held at the Institute for Global Public Policy (IGPP) at Fudan University. Dean Yijia Jing of IGPP attended the event. A total of 21 students from Peking University, Nankai University, and other universities, together with students from Fudan University, participated in the meeting. The session was hosted by Yilin Liu, Communications Secretary of IGPP and faculty leader of the program.

During the concluding session, participating students shared their experiences and reflections from the internship. They recalled their placements in different departments of the League of Arab States (LAS), visits to diplomatic institutions, and discussions with students at The American University in Cairo. The students noted that the program provided them with first-hand insight into the institutional operations of the LAS and a deeper understanding of the social realities and regional issues facing Arab countries. They also reflected on shared development challenges among countries of the Global South and recognized the importance of understanding diverse national contexts in advancing international cooperation. During the program, participants formed friendships with peers from different universities and academic backgrounds and young people from Arab countries. They expressed sincere gratitude to the Secretariat of the LAS for its support and to IGPP for its careful organization of the program.
In his remarks, Dean Jing congratulated the students on successfully completing their internships and commended their dedication and professionalism throughout the program. He noted the growing importance of the Middle East in the evolving global landscape. Through their study and exchanges in Egypt—including a visit to the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Egypt—the students gained a vivid understanding of the history, culture, and social development of Arab countries, as well as regional cooperation mechanisms. Their experiences also deepened their awareness of the complex and evolving situation in the Gulf region. During their internship at the LAS and their visit to The American University in Cairo, the students introduced elements of Chinese culture to Arab youth, helping to foster mutual understanding. As an important practical cooperation initiative between Fudan University and the LAS, the second edition of the internship program built upon the achievements of the inaugural program while introducing new activities and improvements. It has created a new platform for youth exchanges between China and Arab countries. Dean Jing encouraged the students to continue paying attention to China–Arab cooperation and global governance issues in their future studies and careers, broaden their international perspectives, and contribute the energy and ideas of young people to strengthening China–Arab friendship and China’s engagement in global governance.

At the conclusion of the event, Dean Jing presented completion certificates jointly issued by the headquarters of the LAS and Fudan University to the interns and took group photographs with them.
