On November 14-16, 2024, the LSE-Fudan Research Centre for Global Public Policy (Centre) visited the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
Susana Mourato, Vice President of LSE, met with the Fudan delegation led by Yijia Jing, and discussed recent collaboration. Jing provided an overview of the recently 3rd Fudan-LSE Annual Academic Conference held at Fudan and shared updates on the Centre. Susana Mourato acknowledged the Centre’s pivotal role in advancing research and teaching collaboration and expressed her hope for further deepening and expanding the partnership.
The Fudan delegation visited the LSE-Fudan Global Public Policy Research Hub (Hub) at LSE and engaged in friendly discussions with the researchers there. The delegation also communicated with Paul Kelly, Head of the Department of Government; Tim Forsyth, Head of the Department of International Development; and Hua Xiang, Director of East Asian Languages.
During the visit, the delegation held a discussion with first-year students enrolled in the Fudan-LSE dual master's degree program. Yijia Jing analyzed current international and domestic developments, encouraging students to fully benefit from the academic resources in the program. He also introduced the second-year study arrangements at Fudan and provided updates on the development of the Institute for Global Public Policy. Members of the delegation shared their insights on current issues in social policy and global political economy and provided guidance for successfully completing the program. Notable attendees included Tim Hildebrandt, Deputy Head of the Department of Social Policy at LSE; and Iain Begg, Robert Basedow, and Adam Judge from the European Institute.
