On the noon of September 4, 2024, the Institute for Global Public Policy (IGPP) and the LSE-Fudan Research Centre for Global Public Policy (Centre) hosted a welcome reception for 17 undergraduate exchange students from LSE to Fudan University. Attendees included Yijia Jing, Dean of IGPP, Hua Xiang, Director of the East Asian Languages Department at the LSE Language Centre, and Yunxiong Li, Youth Associate Researcher at IGPP.

During the welcome ceremony, Yijia Jing warmly welcomed exchange students. He expressed concern about the potential challenges for students upon arriving in Shanghai and encouraged them to actively adapt to the new cultural environment. He then introduced the diverse academic and teaching activities offered by the Center, encouraging students to fully utilize resources to broaden horizons and enhance professional skills.

Hua Xiang encouraged students to not only pursue academic progress but also actively experience and understand the cultural atmosphere of China and Asia. She emphasized that the IGPP is the "home" for exchange students in China, and expect students to experience the rich Chinese culture through daily life, thus gaining a comprehensive understanding of the development and changes in contemporary China.

Following this, Yunxiong Li introduced the course offerings, degree programs, and faculty of IGPP, encouraging students to actively participate in academic conferences, seminars, and other events.

At the end of the welcome event, all participating faculty and students gathered for a group photo to commemorate the occasion.
