IGPP professors got two prizes of the 16th Shanghai Excellent Achievements in Philosophy and Social Sciences

Recently, the Office of the Shanghai Committee for the Evaluation of Excellent Achievements in Philosophy and Social Sciences announced the Shanghai 16th Excellent Achievements in Philosophy and Social Sciences ,and two teachers of our institute received the prizes. The article Air pollution reduction and climate co-benefits in China's industries submitted by Haoqi Qian, an associate professor at our institute, won the second prize in the category of articles in Shanghai 16th Excellent Achievements in Philosophy and Social Sciences.The book Governance and Policy Options for China's Aging Society co-authored by Professor Yijia Jing received the first prize in the category of books in “Shanghai 16th Excellent Achievements in Philosophy and Social Sciences”.

The Shanghai Excellent Achievement Award in Philosophy and Social Sciences is an award established by the Shanghai Municipal Government to reward scholars and research achievements that have made outstanding contributions in the field of philosophy and social sciences. The award is selected every two years, covering a wide range of fields including philosophy, social sciences, and humanities, including academic works, papers, research reports, and other research achievements.


Profile of Dr. Haoqi Qian



Dr. Haoqi Qian is an assistant professor from Institute for Global Public Policy, Fudan University. He also serves as assistant director at MOE Laboratory for National Development and Intelligent Governance, and assistant director at Shanghai Institute for Energy and Carbon Neutrality Strategy. He got his BA in Economics from Fudan University and Ph.D. in Economics from Fudan University. His research interests are energy and environmental governance, policy simulation and evaluation, social economic analysis with big data. His research articles appear in world leading journals including Nature Sustainability, Energy Economics, Energy Policy, Climate Policy as well as in Chinese leading journals including Social Sciences in China, Economic Research Journal.

He has more than ten years experiences in computable general equilibrium (CGE) modelling and has developed the Dynamic Regional Economy-Energy-Environment Analysis Model (DREAM). He is the principal investigator of National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars and sub investigator of Key Program of National Natural Science Foundation of China among other national and provincial projects. He has also won awards including first prize in The Eighth Ministry of Education Outstanding Scientific Research Achievements in Universities (Humanities and Social Sciences).


Profile of Prof. Yijia Jing



Prof. Yijia Jing is a Chang Jiang Scholar, Seaker Chan Chair Professor in Public Management of School of International Relations and Public Affairs, Dean of the Institute for Global Public Policy, and Co-Director of LSE-Fudan Research Centre for Global Public Policy, Fudan University. He got his BA/MA in Economics from Peking University, MA in Sociology from University of Maryland College Park, and Ph.D. in Public Policy from the Ohio State University. He conducts research on privatization, governance, social organizations, and collaborative service delivery, and publishes on top journals like Public Administration Review, Journal of Policy Analysis and Management, and Governance. He is founding editor-in-chief of the journal Global Public Policy and Governance and a founding co-editor of the Palgrave book series, Governing China in the 21st Century. He is a co-editor of International Public Management Journal, and was an associate editor of Public Administration Review and editor-in-chief of Chinese journal Fudan Public Administration Review. He served as a vice president of International Research Society for Public Management and an associate director of the Office of Global Partnership of Fudan University.
