Doctoral Students of the National Institute of Development Administration Visit IGPP

From March 19 to 20, 2026, a delegation from the Graduate School of Public Administration at the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA), Thailand—led by Dean Achakorn Wongpreedee and Associate Dean Danuvas Sagarik, along with 13 doctoral students—visited the Institute for Global Public Policy (IGPP) at Fudan University for a two-day academic exchange. The delegation was warmly received by Dean Yijia Jing of IGPP, along with Associate Professors Ping Jiang, Ziteng Fan, and Meijun Liu, as well as Assistant Professors Xin Ye and Wenjia Song.

At the opening session, Dean Jing extended a warm welcome to the visiting faculty and students. He noted that IGPP has always been committed to promoting high-level international academic exchange and expressed hope that this visit would further strengthen collaboration between the two sides in academic dialogue, joint programs, and student exchange, thereby expanding both the breadth and depth of future cooperation.

Associate Dean Sagarik then delivered remarks on behalf of NIDA, expressing sincere appreciation for IGPP’s hospitality. He reviewed the steady progress of collaboration between the two institutions in recent years and spoke highly of IGPP’s academic influence and research excellence in public policy. He also expressed strong expectations for further deepening cooperation in the future.

A student representative from NIDA shared that the visit provided a valuable learning opportunity, helping participants deepen their understanding of public policy and global governance. The students expressed their enthusiasm and appreciation for the chance to study and engage at IGPP.

During the academic sessions, faculty members from IGPP and visiting students engaged in discussions on a range of topics. Associate Professor Fan delivered a presentation on artificial intelligence and digital governance. Assistant Professor Ye focused on public health, analyzing the importance of health system development and policy responsiveness through the lens of global health governance. Associate Professor Jiang presented on climate change, examining policy coordination and sustainable development pathways from both global governance and national policy perspectives. Associate Professor Liu discussed technology and innovation, exploring its implications for innovation-driven development. These presentations addressed pressing global governance issues and stimulated active engagement and reflection among participants.

During the visit, IGPP also organized campus tours for the delegation. Through on-site visits, students gained a deeper understanding of Fudan University’s history, culture, and academic environment. The exchanges took place in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, fostering mutual understanding and friendship.

In addition, IGPP doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows held academic discussions with their Thai counterparts. Both sides engaged in in-depth conversations on research interests and academic directions. This exchange provided a valuable platform for dialogue, broadened academic perspectives, and laid a solid foundation for future collaboration.

IGPP and the Graduate School of Public Administration at NIDA have established a long-term and stable academic partnership, formalized through a cooperation agreement, with ongoing and active exchanges. This visit further deepened mutual understanding and strengthened the foundation for future collaboration.
