On November 9, 2024, at the 2nd China-Arab Forum on Global Development and Governance, the "China-Arab Network for Schools of Public Policy and Administration (CANSPPA)" held a ceremony to establish its Executive Committee. President Li Jin of Fudan University presented appointment certificates to Sofiane Sahraoui, Alfred Ho, Noha Elmekawy, Hamid Ali, and Yijia Jing, officially inducting them as members of the Executive Committee.
CANSPPA welcomed several new member institutions as well, including the School of Governance, Economics, and Social Sciences at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, the School of Public Policy and Management at Xi'an Jiaotong University, the School of Public Administration at Sichuan University, and the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Macau. The network has expanded from its 12 founding members to 16, further strengthening collaboration and exchange between Chinese and Arab universities in the field of public policy. Aziz Ajbilou, Xinyu Dong, Wei Zhang, and Bo Wen, representing the new member institutions, took a group photo with the Executive Committee members.
CANSPPA is a non-profit academic alliance initiated by the Fudan Institute for Global Public Policy, with the support of the Arab League Secretariat and the Arab Universities Association. Its members consist of public policy and administration schools and other relevant academic institutions from China and Arab countries. Its secretariat is hosted by the Fudan-Arab Centre for Global Development and Governance. In September 2024, a five-member Executive Committee was elected by CANSPPA member institutions. The Executive Committee held its first plenary meeting on October 12, where they discussed a series of important matters related to the network's development and determined the list of new members for this year.
