On November 22, 2024, Professor Susana Mourato, Vice President of LSE, and her delegation visited the LSE-Fudan Centre of Global Public Policy (Centre). Professor Yijia Jing, Director of the Centre and Dean of the Institute of Global Public Policy (IGPP), warmly welcomed the guests. Attendees included Professor Giles Atkinson, Director of the LSE Grantham Research Institute on Climate and the Environment, Dr. Brendan Smith, Executive Director of the LSE International Strategy, as well as Associate Professor Haoqi Qian and Assistant Professor Xin Ye from IGPP.
Professor Jing began by providing updates on the progress of the Center this year and presented plans for 2025. Professor Mourato commended the progress made in strengthening faculty and student exchanges and initiating new projects. She also showed a keen interest in the development of several upcoming projects.
After the meeting, Professor Mourato engaged with students from the LSE-Fudan double degree program, communicating with LSE undergraduates and other program students on topics related to academics and teaching management.
During the visit, Professor Atkinson delivered the 64th lecture in the Fudan-LSE Lecture Series on the topic "Natural Capital and Sustainability: Connecting Measurement and Policy."
