On May 7, 2026, a delegation from the Institut Pemerintahan Dalam Negeri (IPDN), Indonesia, including Vice President Hyronimus Rowa and Graduate School Dean Muhadam Labolo, visited the Institute for Global Public Policy (IGPP) at Fudan University for an academic exchange. The delegation was accompanied by Dila Ciannas, Consul for Information and Socio-Cultural Affairs at the Consulate General of Indonesia in Shanghai. The delegation was warmly received by Dean Yijia Jing, Associate Dean Haoqi Qian, Assistant Professor Xin Ye, and Assistant Professor Wenjia Song of IGPP.

At the beginning, Dean Jing welcomed the delegation and emphasized that IGPP is committed to promoting international academic exchange and strengthening cooperation in global public policy. He highlighted its strong interest in deepening engagement with Southeast Asian partners and expressed hope that the visit would further enhance collaboration in academic dialogue, joint research, and student exchanges.

Vice President Rowa expressed gratitude for the warm reception and highly commended the academic influence and research capacity of IGPP in global governance and public policy studies. He expressed strong interest in deepening long-term cooperation between both sides.

During the academic sharing session, Assistant Professor Ye provided a comprehensive overview of IGPP, covering its development history, disciplinary structure, research teams, core research areas, and major academic achievements, offering the delegation a systematic understanding of its institutional profile and development philosophy.

Assistant Professor Song presented on digital governance, outlining China’s evolution from digital centralism to digital developmentalism. She highlighted that China’s digital governance is characterized by strong state leadership and public–private coordination, with local digital platforms increasingly shifting from administrative tools to engines of development. Her presentation sparked active discussion among participants.

Assistant Professor Song Xue from the Institute of International Studies introduced ongoing cooperation between the institute and Indonesia, covering joint research, academic events, alumni and student exchanges, faculty visits, and institutional collaboration. He highlighted achievements in areas such as South China Sea joint development, religious diplomacy, Belt and Road Initiative evaluation, and think tank dialogues.

In the doctoral student exchange session, PhD student Yiting Wang from IGPP presented her research on comparative governance models and cooperation pathways in China–Indonesia carbon markets. Indonesian PhD student Monalisa Herawati Rumayar shared her work on strengthening academic cooperation between Indonesia and China, focusing on digital governance practices in smart villages, disaster governance, data governance, and digital recovery.

During the visit, Dean Jing and Associate Dean Qian held a roundtable discussion with Vice President Rowa and Dean Labolo, exchanging views on potential cooperation in academic research, student training, and non-degree education programs.
