On June 15, 2026, the Institute for Global Public Policy (IGPP) at Fudan University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the College of Local Administration (COLA), the International College (KKUIC), and the Faculty of Law at Khon Kaen University in Thailand. The agreement establishes a framework for cooperation in student and faculty exchanges, joint research, academic conferences, and summer school programs. The signing ceremony was attended by Dean Sirisak Laochankham of COLA; Dean Sirimonbhorn Thipsingh of KKUIC; and Dean Yijia Jing of IGPP. Vice Dean Worawit Chaiyata of the Faculty of Law and Dean Siriporn Jantanasakulwong of the Faculty of Political Science at Ubon Ratchathani University also attended the ceremony and witnessed the signing. The event was chaired by Assistant Professor Xin Ye at IGPP, with Assistant Professor Wenjia Song also in attendance.

In his remarks, Dean Jing welcomed the Thai delegation and expressed IGPP’s commitment to strengthening academic collaboration with Thai universities. He highlighted the institute’s existing partnerships in Thailand and noted that in 2025, the 50th anniversary of China–Thailand diplomatic relations provided an important opportunity to further deepen academic and people-to-people exchanges. He expressed hope that the partnership with Khon Kaen University would help build a more structured and long-term framework for cooperation. Representatives from Khon Kaen University’s participating faculties each introduced their institutional strengths and research priorities. They emphasized their strong interest in establishing sustained collaboration in academic exchange, joint training programs, and collaborative research initiatives under the MoU framework. Dean Jantanasakulwong also expressed appreciation for the initiative and welcomed future cooperation with IGPP.

The signing of the MoU is expected to expand IGPP’s academic network in Thailand and strengthen its engagement in global public governance and Southeast Asian regional development studies. It also provides an institutional foundation for long-term collaboration between the participating universities.
