Chinese Government Scholarship – Silk Road Program is a full scholarship program set up by China’s Ministry of Education to support Chinese universities in recruiting students from Belt and Road countries. The Institute for Global Public Policy (IGPP) at Fudan University welcomes outstanding international students from Belt and Road countries to pursue Master’s or Ph.D. degrees in its Master in Global Public Policy program and Ph.D. in Global Public Policy program.

Basic qualifications of applicants

1.Citizens of Belt and Road countries.

2.Applicants for the master’s program should be under the age of 35; applicants for the Ph.D. program should be under the age of 40.

3.With at least a bachelor’s degree, and preferably relevant academic and working background for the Master’s or Ph.D. degree programs (for example a degree in social sciences such as economics, political science, international relations, management, public administration, law, journalism, etc. Basic quantitative skills are important).

4.Applicants should not be holding any other scholarship provided by the Chinese government.

 

Application steps

1.Students shall visit the China Scholarship Council (CSC) website (https://www.campuschina.org/) to complete the application online. Then print and sign the application form. (Program Category: Type B, Agency No.10246 for Fudan University).

2.Students visit the Fudan Online Application Portal (https://istudent.fudan.edu.cn/apply) to complete the application for the Master’s or Ph.D. degree programs of IGPP. Please choose “Self-support” as the “Fund source”. When filling out the application form, please choose the option of “Chinese Government Scholarship” and upload the scholarship application form before May 5th, 2024.

3.The applicant can check the scholarship result by visiting the Fudan International Students Office website (https://iso.fudan.edu.cn/isoenglish/) via the “Notices” column.

4.Admitted students then follow guidelines to apply for a visa and start their study in Sep 2024.

 

Application materials to be submitted by students

1.Valid Regular Passport Photocopy (Personal Information Page)

2.Personal Photo 

3.Diploma & Degree Certificate (Bachelor and beyond)

4.Transcripts (Undergraduate and beyond)

5.References (Two letters from professors or associate professors)

6.CV

7.Personal Statement (ideally 1000 words for the Master’s program, and 3000 words for the Ph.D. Program)

8.Proof of English Language Proficiency (minimum requirements: IELTS: Overall band 6.5 or TOEFL: 90 or Duolingo English Test: 110 or PTE Academic: 110).

9.Foreigner Physical Examination Form (compulsory for applicants who apply for scholarships)

10.Proof of No Criminal Record in Chinese or English
