LSE-Fudan Double Degree in International Social and Public Policy

This joint double degree program is offered by Fudan University and London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). The program will provide top quality international and multidisciplinary research and teaching on social and public policy challenges facing countries across the world.

The duration of this program is 24 months full-time. The first year of the program will be spent in the Department of Social Policyhttps://www.lse.ac.uk/social-policyat LSE, where students will study the International Social and Public Policy of contemporary social, political and economic problems, such as poverty, inequality, crime, unemployment, healthcare, education and housing, and the potential policy responses to them. Students will do their second-year study at the Institute for Global Public Policy (https://igpp.fudan.edu.cn/) at Fudan University in Shanghai, on issues of social policy and governance in the Chinese context and beyond. This double degree master program is delivered by world-leading experts in the fields of social policy and public policy. 

Students fulfill the graduation and degree requirements of LSE and Fudan will be awarded the Master of Management in Public Policy from Fudan University, and the MSc in International Social and Public Policy from LSE.

International students should first apply to this program at LSE. Applications will be jointly reviewed and decided by LSE and Fudan. Admitted students must go through a separate process of application to Fudan University under the instructions from Fudan University.

  

Course requirements

Year 1 at LSE (Details can be found at LSE website).

  

Year 2 at Fudan University

Students will be required to complete a minimum of 38 credits in year two at Fudan. This will include the transferal of some LSE credits from year 1.

Thesis Requirements

Students are required to write a graduation thesis during second year study in Fudan. Thesis should have the minimum number of 20,000 words.

  

Degree requirements in Fudan

Student can apply and receive a Certificate of Degree if he/she:

(1) Accomplish all required number of courses in each category, totally at least 38 credits;

(2) GPA of basic courses and core courses is greater than 2.0;

(3) Finish thesis and pass the thesis defense.

(4) Finish all above requirements in up to five years.
