Degree Program
This joint double degree program is offered by Fudan University and London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). The program will provide top-quality international and multidisciplinary research and teaching on social and public policy challenges countries facing across the world.
The program spans a full-time duration of 24 months. During the first year of the program, students will be located in the Department of Social Policy at LSE, where students will delve into the study of contemporary social, political, and economic issues, such as poverty, inequality, crime, unemployment, healthcare, education, and housing, with a focus on the international aspects. They will explore potential policy responses to these challenges. For their second-year studies, students will be based at the Institute for Global Public Policy at Fudan University in Shanghai. The focus of this year will be on exploring social policy and governance issues both within the Chinese context and beyond. This double degree master's program is delivered by world- renowned experts in the fields of social policy and public policy.
Students who fulfill the graduation and degree requirements of LSE and Fudan will be awarded the Master of Management in Public Policy from Fudan University, and the MSc in International Social and Public Policy from LSE.

Thesis Requirements
Students are required to complete a graduation thesis during their second year of program study at Fudan. The thesis should have a minimum length of 20,000 words.
Degree requirements at Fudan
Students can apply for and obtain a Certificate of Degree if they meet the following requirements:
1)Accomplish all required number of courses in each category, at least 34 credits in total;
2)Pass all courese. The overall GPA of basic and core courses is no less than 2.5;
3)Finish the thesis and pass the thesis defense;
4)Finish all the above requirements within five years.
Admission
Students from Chinese mainland should submit applications to Fudan in June/September, 2024. Fudan and LSE will arrange a joint interview. Fudan admission results will be released before October, 2024. Students admitted to Fudan should submit online applications to LSE Online Application System by 30 November, 2024, and normally they will be admitted.
Students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan should:
a. complete National Postgraduate Entrance Examination (see more details at 面向港澳台招生信息网)
b. submit application to LSE Online Application System before December, 2024.
Fudan and LSE will arrange a joint interview in March or April, 2025. Admission results will be released before June, 2025.
International students should first apply at the LSE. More details can be found at LSE website. Applications will be jointly reviewed and decided by LSE and Fudan. Admitted students must go through a separate process of application to Fudan University during the second semester of the first year (See below for details).

Scholarship
International students have opportunities to apply for the Chinese Government Scholarship that is offered by China Scholarship Council (CSC) for their second year of program study in China. Students can find detailed information of different types of scholarships on CSC’s official website. Students can also consult the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in their home countries.
Accommodation
Fudan University offers a limited amount of on-campus housing for international students at the Foreign Students Dormitory, which is situated on the Handan campus, the same location as the IGPP. For more information, please visit the International Students Office Website. IGPP will provide useful advice and information about accommodation for enrolled international students who are considering live off campus.
